Less is more

Responsible use of resources is one of the challenges of climate change. Keeping our energy consumption in check is a way of helping our planet to breathe. At Hôtel Le Lavoisier, the temperature is set within a range or 19 to 24°C, to achieve the right balance between comfort and respect for the environment.

Water consumption

A thirst for ethics

Even though the River Seine that borders our arrondissement gives the impression of a constant flow, water suitable for consumption deserves to be considered. For instance, the bottled water available at Hôtel Le Lavoisier is in fact filtered tap water. Sourced locally, this purified water not only has zero impact from transport but also, thanks to reusable glass bottles, avoids the unnecessary use of plastic. 

Another example is that when washing linen, the detergents used inevitably discard pollutants in the wastewater. To conserve the quality and quantity of the water supply, Hôtel Le Lavoisier suggests that your bed linen and towels be changed only when you think it necessary. Every year, thousands of litres of water are saved in this way, working together to preserve a precious natural resource.

Further to our concern for saving natural resources, recycling is a tried-and-tested virtuous practice. However, to make it easier to re-use existing materials, they need to be sorted before recycling. Every day, the Hôtel Le Lavoisier staff works conscientiously to sort organic waste from metal, paper, plastic and packaging. By using the waste-sorting bins provided in your rooms and public areas, you too can contribute to this effort.

To develop the local economy, it needs to be nurtured. Purchasing nearby reduces the carbon footprint resulting from logistics. Sourcing locally, in person, is the best way to ensure quality standards. This is how Hôtel Le Lavoisier selects its partners and suppliers.
